A Night’s Welcome

A Night’s Welcome Winter Shelter program for the homeless in which area congregations rotate hospitality providing shelter, dinner and breakfast meals during the cold winter months.  Doors open at 6 pm (1 hr earlier) and close at 7 am the next morning. Each guest has a detailed case management intake sheet completed and they are evaluated for additional services. The program currently runs 24 weeks during the coldest winter months, from October through early April.

Next step is for families with children to go to H.E.L.P. Family Shelter –graduating from  “A Night’s Welcome” winter emergency shelters.

H.E.L.P. is always preparing for “A Night’s Welcome” Emergency Winter Shelter and we are in need of the following items to complete toiletry/hygiene bags for guests:

New Packaged Socks

New Packaged Underwear

Gallon size Zip-lock bags

Disposable razors

Washcloths (new or gently used/clean)

Travel size deodorant

Items may be dropped off at DAY CENTER, 329 Buckroe Avenue, Hampton, VA.  For questions, please contact H.E.L.P. at 757-723-2242.  Thank you!
